AMAG Employees Volunteer to Support the March of Dimes

Every year in the United States, more than half a million babies are born too soon. Medical research supported by the March of Dimes is helping to improve babies’ chances of being born healthy and staying healthy. The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. In support of their mission, AMAG joined thousands of compassionate teams across the country that support March for Babies.

AMAG colleagues from across the country formed regional teams that raised money for this worthy cause and participated in three of the largest March for Babies walks in the country: Boston, San Francisco and Tucson, Ariz. Through the passion and perseverance of more than half of AMAG’s entire employee base, more than $25,000 was raised to support the work of the March of Dimes in just a three-month time frame. In addition, AMAG offered a sponsorship and an employee match of $25,000 – bringing the corporate-wide contribution to this year’s March for Babies effort to $50,000.

“I am thrilled with the results of our efforts in this first year of working with March for Babies,” said Katie Payne, vice president of external affairs at AMAG. “From East Coast to West, AMAG colleagues aimed higher to make a meaningful difference in the lives of countless pregnant mothers and their babies. I look forward to continuing our support of this very worthy cause.”
